BIAB and gel polish both go on under a lamp and both leave you with glossy nails, so it is easy to wonder which one to book. Here is how they compare, from our team in Parnell.
What is gel polish?
Gel polish is a thin layer of colour. It is set under a lamp, so your nails are dry before you leave, and it lasts around two to three weeks before it needs removing and redoing. You can have it on its own or add it to a manicure.
What is BIAB?
BIAB stands for Builder In A Bottle. It is a builder gel made by The Gel Bottle. It goes on like gel polish but in a thicker layer, so it adds strength as well as shine.
BIAB lasts 2 to 6 weeks, depending on how quickly your nails grow and how you look after them. As it grows out, we can infill it rather than starting again.
How to choose
Choose gel polish if you love changing your colour every few weeks.
Choose BIAB if your nails bend or break easily, or you are growing your own nails and would like them to feel stronger day to day.

Can I have nail art on both?
Yes. French tips, ombre, chrome, cat eye and nail art can all be added when you book.
HEMA-free options
Our premium gel and our BIAB are both by The Gel Bottle, which is HEMA-free and TPO-free.
Love a really neat finish?
A Russian manicure can be finished with either gel polish or BIAB. The careful e-file work lets your colour sit very close to the cuticle.
