Cosmetic Tattooing: Wake Up Ready with Brows, Lips and Liner That Last

Imagine skipping the brow pencil, the lip liner and the wobbly eyeliner wing every single morning. Cosmetic tattooing, also called semi-permanent makeup, gives you softly defined features that stay put through workouts, swims and long days, so you wake up looking polished without lifting a brush.

What is cosmetic tattooing?

Cosmetic tattooing deposits pigment into the upper layers of the skin to enhance your natural features. Unlike a traditional body tattoo, the pigment sits closer to the surface and is designed to fade gradually over time, which means your look can evolve as trends and your face change.

Every treatment starts with a consultation. We map your features, discuss the shape and colour you are after, and draw the design on with pencil first. Nothing is tattooed until you are completely happy with the preview.

Our cosmetic tattooing treatments

Brows

Brows frame the whole face, and they are our most popular cosmetic tattooing treatment. Depending on your skin type and the look you want, we offer:

- Feathered or hair-stroke brows. Fine, hair-like strokes for a soft, natural finish. Ideal if you want a fuller brow that still looks like your own.

- Ombré or powder brows. A soft, shaded effect that mimics the look of brow powder. Great for oily skin and for anyone who loves a more defined, makeup-finished brow.

- Combination brows. Hair strokes at the front blending into shading through the arch and tail, for the best of both.

Lips

Lip blush adds a wash of colour and gentle definition to the lips. It can even out tone, soften the appearance of asymmetry and give the illusion of fuller lips without filler. Choose a barely-there tint or a bolder, more defined shade.

Eyeliner

Lash enhancement tattooing places pigment between the lashes to make them look thicker and darker, with no visible liner. If you prefer a defined look, a classic liner or soft wing gives you a finished eye every morning.

What to expect on the day

Your appointment takes around two to three hours, with most of that time spent on consultation and mapping. A topical numbing cream is applied before and during the treatment, so discomfort is minimal. Most clients describe the sensation as a light scratching.

Immediately afterwards, the colour will look darker and more intense than the final result. This is completely normal. Over the following week, the pigment softens and settles to around 30 to 50 percent lighter.

Healing and aftercare

Healing takes around four to six weeks. During the first week:

- Keep the area clean and dry, and avoid soaking it in water

- Apply the aftercare balm we give you as directed

- Skip makeup on the treated area

- Avoid saunas, swimming, sunbeds and heavy sweating

- Do not pick or scratch any flaking, let it come away on its own

A touch-up appointment at six to eight weeks perfects the shape and colour once your skin has fully healed. This second session is part of the process, not an extra.

How long does it last?

Results typically last one to three years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle and sun exposure. Oily skin and frequent sun tend to fade pigment faster. An annual colour refresh keeps everything looking crisp.

Is cosmetic tattooing right for you?

It suits almost anyone who wants to save time, has sparse or over-plucked brows, struggles with unsteady hands, or simply loves a low-maintenance routine. Let us know at booking if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have diabetes, are on blood thinners or acne medication, or have had recent Botox or filler in the area, as we may need to adjust timing or recommend an alternative.
